I didn't tell her that part of her training was learning how to block out distracting things. She'd learn how to do it by trying to concentrate on the button.

"But then you two could share a room when we stop at the inns! It would be so sweet!" Adelle said sweetly. Marcus and Gill were talking about something else, but I couldn't make it out.

Riona was practicing focusing on a button but it was hard to tell if she really was or not. Her eyes were never focused because of her blindness. I looked back towards Adelle and shrugged.

"Yeah... I suppose that's an upside. What about you and Marcus though?"

She shrugged a little. "Well, I dunno... he hasn't proposed yet." She said softly. The other guys were too far ahead to hear. "So... I don't know whether we'll get married soon or not."

"My only fear is that... if we share a room that we..." I blushed, "I don't want children right now. Do you think he wants to propose or get married one day?" I asked curiously. I glanced back and the button still hadn't moved.

I stayed quiet and motionless so that I wouldn't be another distraction.

"I think he does... but I've never asked him. But judging buy his actions, I'd say, maybe yes."

Two girls, talking about spending the rest of their lives with my brothers. I almost couldn't believe it. I was only twenty-three when we were cursed, Marcus was twenty-five and Gill was twenty-one. Yes, the youngest of us was already getting married. It was weird though, hearing the girls talk about it. Not that I cared. I liked them both and didn't mind having them as sisters.

"Oh! It sounds like it!" Adelle laughed. "Ah, but Gill is a sweetheart."

I knew that Gill, Julius and Marcus were brothers and that Julius was the only one who was not getting married anytime soon. I didn't think he ever felt bad about it though, I just wondered... but I didn't ask. If I talked to him I'd be talking in the direction of Riona who was... not getting anywhere.

"He is, I love him very much... Marcus though... he seems private."

She smiled, obviously thinking. "He is. He's more of... the quiet hero type. He'd save your life in a heartbeat, but only turn you down if you tried to thank him. He doesn't like to be thanked for those things."

She knew Marcus really well, which was to be expected from a long time lover. I shifted some and watched the button. It wasn't moving, but I think at the moment, she was just trying to focus on it.

"I can't focus." Riona said before I could answer Adelle's comment about Marcus. She looked so frustrated and curled her fingers over the button as if she was trying to feel it better.

"I'm sorry..." I apologized, "Are we distracting you?"

"N-No... I just... can't seem to make it move."

"It'll take a while. You can take a break if you want." I said, nuzzling her ear. "Besides, I think I want to be scratched right now." I said, flicking my tail side to side. I liked doing that recently.

"Are you developing a little crush on Riona, Julius?" I asked, it was strange to ask such a thing, considering that he was a cat.

I eyed her suspiciously. I didn't want her telling Riona. I'd had a crush on her for a long time. I hopped down into Riona's lap and looked up at her. She was beautiful... no matter how you looked at it. I liked her a lot already. But I didn't want to respond to the question. If I said yes, I didn't want to trouble her. If I said no, I didn't want to trouble her either, and if I said maybe, then it would definitely trouble her.

"That will be revealed when I turn back to a human." I said simply. The truth was, I had liked Riona a great deal for a while now.

I giggled loudly when he purred, "You act like you have been a cat your whole life." I commented, I loved cats... but I'd never had one before.

"R-Really?" I hadn't really expected that. I was never referred to as the most handsome of my brothers. Usually I was referred to as the weirdest though. I licked her hand and rubbed up against it.

I was about to say something when I got distracted. I thought I heard something. I looked around a little bit and then I was hit in the face by something and I fell off of the horse.

One minute I was scratching his ears and the next he was falling off. "EEP!" I could only see his figure behind when I looked back, I couldn't see what hit him at all but I did feel to see if it stayed in my lap or not. "Viann?! Stop!"

Viann stopped the horses, "What on earth happened?!"

I was wrong. It didn't hit me in the face. It hit all of me. What was it? You ask? A net. Yes, I had a net, expertly thrown to catch me.

I wiggled and fought against it, but I couldn't find a way out. I found myself hissing and growling in frustration.

"J-Julius!!" I heard Adelle scream. I hoped she was coming to get me. I didn't want whomever hit me with the net to come and get me!

Someone hopped down before I could get off my horse to run for him and they grabbed up the net, "Stop!" The person held out their hand and gazed at the net, "What a find... a talking animal..."

"G-Give him back!!" Riona cried.

"Something as rare as this has to be sold and shown off to the crowds. You aren't doing him any justice."

Poor Julius was flipping about in the net, but he couldn't escape. I reached for my bow but the man just shook his head and held up a knife in his other hand. "Ah, you'd really trade his life to kill me?"

"Why would you kill him? You just said he's worth a lot."
