I nodded in agreement, "You have a purpose, you just live and then find out what it is! Don't cry, Riona..." We came upon an inn where we could stay for a while and Gill bought our rooms.

"But how do I learn magic?" Riona asked, she was still sort of talking to Julius at that time.

"Ah, I can teach you if you want me to." I said. People were staring at me as we were walking up to the rooms. "But, it might take a while."

"That's good that you want to learn, Riona... but for now you need a lot more rest." I said. Gill gave us the key to our room and I unlocked the door. "Goodnight, Men."

"Goodnight! Wait... VIANN!" Gill grabbed me and placed a passionate kiss on my lips, "I love you." <3

I fell off of his shoulder and landed on all four paws, then was almost stepped on by Marcus who rushed to Adelle to try to out-do the other couple.

I sighed and shook my head. "Goodnight, Riona. Sleep well!"

I waved to Gill before leading Riona into our shared room. I hadn't slept in a bed in so long so as soon as I laid down I savored every second of it. "This is magical..."

Gill had laid out a pillow for me on his bed and that's where I had decided to sleep. It was very comfortable. I wondered why beds weren't made to be as comfortable as pillows.

*Riona*

I was woken up early in the morning by Adelle... I knew it was Adelle because of the shape of her hair. I heard another voice which I assumed was Viann's and she was talking to Gill.

"Why so early?"

"Julius says we need to get out of town so we can find that trinket..."

"Stop tossing my clothes in the bag like that, I don't like it."

I sat up and yawned, "Wha's... going on?" I asked sleepily.

"Julius wants us to leave. We have to start looking for his trinket. He said he can feel it pulling him or something and he wants to hurry and get it." I said with a sigh. "Did you all sleep well?" I asked, watching Julius run in and jump on Riona's bed.

"I suppose I slept well enough... ah, hello Julius!" I scratched behind his ear before being pulled up by Viann. She was helping me get dressed.

"Don't worry, you aren't completely uncovered, darling." Viann said, "I'm just changing the dress you had yesterday."

"Oh." I sighed in relief.

Julius was watching and I smacked him in the head. "O-Ow! Marcus!!"

"Just focus on the direction that trinket of yours is pulling you, dumb cat!" >|

"I'm not a dumb cat!"

Adelle sighed. "Julius, do what Marcus said, and Marcus, quit harassing Julius. I swear, you both act like children, constantly!"

"There, all dressed!" Viann backed up and then I lost sight of whatever else she was doing, I could only see their movements because of the figures.

"Okay, okay..." Gill sighed, "We have a really long trip, is everyone ready to go?"

He seemed to be the one leading a lot, when we left Gab's house he was the first to say we were going.

Julius bobbed his head up and down. "I am... but I refuse to let Marcus carry me. He's always attacking me."

Adelle frowned at me. "Marcus! He's just a cat! Beat him up after he's turned human if you must."

"But it's fun to smack him around..." I said softly.

Adelle sighed though. "Julius, just.. I don't know, sit on Riona's shoulder or something."

I smiled, "Come here, Julius." I was fine with having him close, I liked him anyway... he always called me pretty before he knew that I could hear him.

"I'm ready to go, we have money... a little food and energy!"

"Energy is always a good thing." Gill added.

Adelle picked me up and placed me on Riona's shoulder. I had pretty good balance, but they put some leather under her dress over her shoulder in case I had to catch my balance anyway. "Hello, Riona!" I said happily. "Ready to learn some magic?"

"Julius, don't grin. You look scary." Marcus said.

"Yeah, I'm really excited." I said softly, I reached up and gave him a scratch and then felt Viann put something in my hand.

"These are your things. We'll help you keep track of this bag."

"Oh. Thank you!" They were so helpful to me, I'd always been called helpless, crippled and insane because I spent so much time talking to 'myself'.

I shifted my weight some. "Alright, let's go! But first, Adelle, get that button on the floor."

She did so and sighed. "Now what?"

"Hold it for a little bit! First, let's get some horses! My money is in my robes, I hope it's enough to cover them. I don't know how much they cost anymore."

"Why don't we all just shut up and get some horses? And a rope to tie Riona's to another horse."

"Riona on a horse... why does that scare me?" Viann wrapped her arm around my waist so she could guide me. "Who's going to watch her?"

"We all know that Julius needs his own horse so..."

"What? No! I'm going to be with her, teaching her magic! And you can tie her to the saddle." I said. "And why would I need my own horse? I don't understand."

"So you don't pester Riona like you do everyone else?"

"You're not as funny as you think you are, Marcus."

"Neither of you are funny." Adelle said.

"Let's all face the fact that none of us our funny... except for me." Gill said as we were leaving, I noticed Viann's grip on me was a lot tighter than before and that's when I discovered that we were going to down some steps.

"Oh, thank you."

"You're welcome. Are you okay with riding a horse?"

"I suppose." I probably didn't have a choice either way, walking would get me into trouble.

"I think you'll find it fun." I said. "We will strap you on so you won't fall off, and you won't have to worry about getting separated from us, and you won't have to worry about tripping over things! It is very nice!" I said happily, easily keeping balance on her shoulder.

Later on we had horses and we left town. I had never ridden on a horse before but so far it was okay and I kept reaching up to make sure that Julius was not slipping but I didn't think he was anyway.

"So I think we should get married in the next town." I heard Gill say.

"Huh? This soon?"

"What do you mean this soon? We've been stone for years! I think we should do it before bad things happen again."

"Adelle, please put the button in Riona's hand." I said softly.

"I totally agree! You two should definitely get married! It's been so long!" She said, pulling her horse closer and setting the button in Riona's hand.

"Okay, Riona. No, focus on the button, and only the button. Focus on trying to move it. As you get closer, you may be able to see the button because of the magic you need to put into the button to make it move. It might take a few days, but, that's your first exercise."

"Oh, okay." I focused on the feeling of the button in my hand which was using a bit of energy to do so. It was hard to tune out the wedding talk between Adelle, Gill and Viann.

"I would like to but we aren't going to be able to settle down for a time..."
