"I feel strange... really weak and tired." I kept my hand on him and could see his figure but he was a cat... not a human. So it must have effected his shape some.

"Which reminds me, I'm starving!" Marcus exclaimed, walking over and pulling Adelle with him.

"Me too!" I heard Gill call, he was walking with Viann who was admiring her hand but I couldn't see what was special about it, that was hidden to me because of all the glowing. I tried to get up and felt a hand on my arm.

"What happened?" Viann was suddenly right next to me, "She's so pale, Julius..."

I sighed and began purring. She was scratching me now! >.<

"The magic she used to make the spell work zapped her energy. It wasn't a huge spell, but she's not trained." I said softly. "We need to get her some food and to a bed." I continued to pur.

Gill picked me up and I panicked, "Wh-Where's my canvas?!" I cried, up until now I'd never actually been touched by anyone and it scared me. T^T

I frowned at him. "Be careful with her! She just saved us!" I said quickly. "Marcus, please get my staff and robe, and will someone carry me? And Adelle, please grab her canvas and her quill... she's got a bottle of ink over there too. Get that please."

I heard them all rushing around and gathering things up. It was so confusing to be blind but at least I could vaguely see them, their spirits anyway. "So... what does it mean that I can use the s-staff?"

"It means you can use magic! Which is pretty obvious since you can see us!" I said, looking up at her. I hadn't been picked up yet. "Y-WAH!" Marcus picked me up by the scruff on my neck and sat my on her stomach in Gill's arms. "M-Marcus!" I exclaimed, then sat down. "It means you're special."

"Very special!" Viann added, "If it weren't for you we would still be stone unfortunately... Julius is still a cat. But a very cute cat!"

After a bit I had successfully led them to my home and the only reason I knew that was because of Gabriana. She was absolutely panicked when I was brought home instead of coming by myself.

"Riona!! What on earth happened to you?! I'm sorry, I didn't know she was causing so much trouble!"

"It's okay!" I said without thinking. "We wanted to thank her for all of her help! She needs something warm to eat and she needs to rest!"

Marcus smacked me in the head. "Cats don't talk, Julius!"

"Oh..." Gabriana seemed a little bit uncertain when she heard Julius talking but she didn't hesitate to invite them all in. She was too social for her own good. "Just lay her in that room over there and I'll make some dinner... uh... where was she this time? She gets out a lot and I'm not sure how she does it. She's blind and she can't feel around very well."

"She was in the park, the one with the big fountain." Viann said.

I was laying on the couch with Riona, sulking. "I can't believe he hit me..." I frowned sadly. "He... hit me."

Marcus and Adelle were being super social though, along with Gill and Viann. I was starving, but I would let them eat first.

"So, she just gets up and leaves on her own?" Marcus said, amazed. "She's very brave!"

"I'm sorry he hit you." I said softly, scratching behind his ear. I was giving a very weak scratch because I was so tired and couldn't keep my eyes open, "Does it hurt bad?

"She's been doing that since she was young, I don't really try to keep her locked up though. At first I was concerned but she seems to make it alright."

I began to purr at her touch. I was still getting used to being able to do that. "Not too bad." I said, laying on her stomach. "You should get some sleep though. We will wake you up when it's time to eat."

"So people were just making fun of her and calling her insane... she sits in the same place every day drawing and talking." I said, "And the whole time we thought she was talking to herself but she was really talking to us."

Gabriana sighed, she was cooking and I was trying to help but I wasn't very good at it. "I had no idea."

I fell asleep with her after snuggling under the blanket. She was warm.

"I kind of felt bad... I mean, that means we were just... ignoring her this whole time. She's really nice." I said, rubbing my head some.

"Yes, and her sketches are very good. She drew me today. I almost couldn't believe it!"

Gabriana turned around while the food was cooking and sighed, "She's... always been a bit different. Her blindness has numbed her to everything and she acts like things aren't troublesome... until the noise gets to be too much. She can't tell if she's being talked to or not."

I frowned, "So she never knew that we weren't talking to her, she just... kept trying to join in."

"Right. She keeps saying she can see figures but I'm not sure what she means. And don't feel bad, Marcus, she probably can't even tell. As for her art... I'm not sure how she does it."

"She could see us. She told us she could." I said softly. "We thought it was weird, but she walked right up to us and everything, only tripping over things she couldn't see. She's really amazing."

"That's... very interesting. Her whole life she's said she can see figures but when I'm not there she says it's so dark and she'll fumble around. She can navigate town but she can't navigate the house. She's fallen down the stairs more than once."

"So you... didn't believe her?" I asked.

"She's simple minded, I don't know what to believe."

Ouch... saying that about Riona. T^T

Adelle shrugged. "Well, you believe me when I tell you I can see you, right? Why not believe her if she says she can see figures?" She patted Gabriana's shoulder. "Just... have a little faith in her." I knew Adelle felt bad for not believing in her too. I knew that little frown she sported all too well.

"Well... what matters is that she helped us!" I said with a smile. "She helped us a lot."

"I still don't believe that. I'll try but the fact is I'm going to be stuck taking care of her for the rest of my life. Her parents just dumped her one day and then they both got killed. No one else would take her because she didn't have any promise of being a wife for someone in the future." Gabriana turned around again, she was so... hard to talk to.

I smiled, "She's beautiful though... someone will be willing to love and take care of her I'm sure..."

"No. I find your optimism very funny."

Gill frowned, "She's a bright girl, she's loving and friendly. I don't understand why you are being so hopeless for her." I looked at Adelle, she was sweet and always so encouraging but I hated to see people just push her away like that. It made me angry. >(

Adelle crossed her arms in irritation. She was about to reach for her bow when I took her hand and kissed it. "Viann is right." I said. "She's very beautiful. She'll definitely find someone willing to care for her. Especially since she seems to be able to get around outside well enough. "She's very sweet too."

Adelle took her hand away. She was angry with Gabriana. She huffed and walked out of the kitchen. "Tell me when it's time to eat."

While the guys were talking to Gabriana I decided to go check on Adelle, she was not used to being treated like that and it wasn't exactly the best way to go about talking to someone who had spent most of her time watching the world go by. She wanted friends, I knew that.

"Adelle!" I called, more in a whisper because Julius and Riona were asleep on the couch. "Let's talk, Adelle..." I knew she was mad. I was too but I was trying to be relaxed. We were guests in the house and I didn't want to get on Gab's bad side.

I frowned and crossed my arms angrily. "I should not have to stand being talked to that way!" I whispered. "I am a knight! Not a commoner! I did not become a female knight to be spoken to like that! And then, to speak of Rion like that?! Like she's an idiot and we are too?! That girl saved our lives and that woman just talks about her like it's nothing!"

"Gabriana doesn't understand magic or anything of the sort, she's ignorant and pessimistic. I know it's hard but we have to ignore her and just take advantage of the hospitality we have for now. And if she's going to treat Riona the way she is... then we'll just take Riona with us when we leave." I hugged her, hugging felt strange but I wanted her to calm down, "I'm angry too. Trust me, I'm not justifying Gabriana's actions."
