I hugged her back. Viann was always the hugging type. "It just isn't right. Remember, Viann? We became knights so we could defend people like her! Remember? It really makes my blood boil to know that things like this have happened in our absence!" I frowned and looked back to Riona and Julius sleeping on the couch. "She really saved us today. We owe her a great deal."

I nodded in agreement, "I know, she sounds bitter as it is so maybe we just need to give her some space." I followed her gaze to Riona. "I guess one day we'll see the perfect way to pay her back... but I honestly don't think she wants us to do anything right now. She doesn't seem like the type to care."

"I guess." I sighed. "Thank you for calming me down. I don't need to face these things angrily." I said with a small smile towards my best friend. Viann was my best friend, and we had been best friends since birth. She could always calm me down. "I say we should take Riona with us though. I don't want her here."

Our friendship had been something from the start. We did everything together and even joined the war together with hopes of never losing track of each other. We never did. We also met our loved ones there and still we were so close, like sister. I nodded in agreement, "You're welcome, always. And I agree but we have no place to go home to... where are we going to take her?"

"I'm not sure..." I frowned. "But I don't think our adventure is yet over. We still need to figure out how to change Julius back." I said.

I nodded, "Well whenever we leave we are talking Riona on this adventure we have. I'm sure the guys won't mind at all." I gave her another hug and then looked at her happily, "Smile! It's going to be okay!"

"Yeah, he was always watching her when she came by each day... I think she's going to be his hero." I noticed Gill waving for me and decided that it must be time for dinner. Neither of us wanted to be around Gabriana but it seemed like she was picky about people not eating at the table.

I smiled at that and then we went to the table for dinner. I was starved. So we all ate together and then I woke Julius and gave him a bowl of soup to eat out of, and then woke Riona and gave her the same.

"You two slept for a while." I said with a smile.

I heard Riona's stomach growling and couldn't help but giggle, she was obviously starving and carefully ate her soup. She was trying to get her soup straight to her mouth.

"I was really tired." Riona said after managing to get a couple bites of her dinner, "It's so hot..."

"Don't eat too fast." Gabriana said bitterly, "Higher, your mouth isn't below your chin."

"I... I can't see where the spoon is going."

I watched Gabriana get up and without even a hint of gentleness she moved it towards her mouth, "This way!"

"Why are you mad?" Riona asked, she dropped the spoon and touched her burnt lip. The nervousness in her eyes said a lot, she wasn't okay with how Gabriana treated her.

Julius was hissing violently and Marcus tapped him to make him calm down. I sighed and took the spoon. "I'll help you, Riona, hold on." I said softly. I pulled a chair up and blew on the spoon to cool down the soup and brought it to her mouth. "Here you go."

"She's not going to learn if you do everything for her." Gabriana said in annoyance, "How is she ever going to survive on her own if everyone works for her?"

Riona gratefully accepted the help though, she was helpless and everything for her was dark. She reached over to Julius and scratched the top of his head, "Julius..."

"She's blind." I was trying not to lose my own temper.

"I'll do whatever I can for her." I frowned. "Because she helped me." I blew on the spoon again and held it to her lips.

"Keep doing that! I have an itch there I can't seem to scratch... Oh, oh yeah... right there..." I said softly. "That feels good." I licked more of my soup up and wiggled under her hand.

Riona sipped off the spoon and continued to scratch Julius' head. I would laugh if he continued to like her doing that after he was turned back to normal... >_>;

"Help her then, but if you baby her she'll never survive on her own."

Gill looked like he was trying not to get angry, I knew that expression so well.

I looked up and saw Marcus pacing back and forth and Gill trying to calm him down, then the reverse happened. Adelle just sighed.

"Oh? Then I suppose we should take all of your money away so you can learn how to grow food for yourself. After all, you're just being babied with it." Adelle snapped and gave Riona another sip.

And I was about to jump on the woman's face and claw it up. I couldn't believe she was speaking so bitterly of another person.

"Don't be upset with Gabriana, she's always this way with me. I'm used to it..." Riona accepted another sip and smiled warmly, she was so cute... and sweet. I didn't understand why anyone couldn't like her. She suffered enough abuse outside the house and inside too?

"Tell you what, how about we just take her away from you if you're so tired of it?" Gill finally snapped as well, he was tired of it. "She's smart, beautiful and if she can make it through town without a scratch then I think she can survive just fine!"

"But she's crippled. She can't even feed herself!"

"Well that's what we're here for isn't it? Viann, Adelle..." Gill picked up Julius mentally preparing himself for the clawing he was about to get. "Get Riona, we're leaving."

"MY FOOD!" I hissed. I hadn't been allowed to eat, but Marcus quickly held up the bowl and I got to eat again. Yay. <3

Adelle helped Riona up. "Come on, Sweetie. We'll take care of you. Viann, please get her canvas. I'm sure she'd still like to have it."

Marcus handed my bowl to Gill, and grabbed my robe and staff. "Everyone ready?" He asked.

I picked up the canvas and caught a glimpse of Gabriana looking dumbfounded, she wasn't making a move to stop us from taking Riona and that said enough to me.

"Ready." Gill said, he looked back at me and double checked everything. "Hey check it out... I still have all my money! Sorry, Julius."

Riona seemed really okay with leaving, but that didn't surprise me either.

Adelle was just shaking her head and wrapped her arm around Riona. "Viann and I are going to just help you walk, we don't want you to fall over trying to follow us. How much energy have you regained?

"Great, we can afford a few rooms at the inn! Julius, you are rooming with us because even though you are a cat you still have the eyes of a man." Gill said on our way out the door.

I had my arm around Riona the same way Adelle did so we could help her walk and I had her canvas under my other arm.

"I think I've got enough, thank you." Riona gave us both a big smile.

"I feel as though you don't trust me. And I'm done with the soup. You can leave it on her steps." I said.

"We don't!" Adelle frowned. "You're a single man! Gill and Marcus are more trustworthy than you."

"Ouch! Not fair!" I said quickly.

Marcus was nodding though. "She's right though. Gill and I already have our ladies. You don't. You're not trustworthy when it comes to you being a cat. You seem harmless, but you're not."

Gill bent down to put the bowl on the steps and chuckled, "Especially when one of the three ladies over there is newly engaged. I don't want any man in her room... even if he is just a cat."

I shuddered, "I'm sorry, that's just disturbing."

Riona giggled, "I like Julius, he's a lovely person. Can I break his spell too? Julius...?"

I was sitting on Gill's shoulder when I heard her say that. "Well... yes, but that will take a lot more energy than the last spell. If you aren't prepared, you could die." I said softly. "You'd have to learn how to control your magic first."

Marcus was frowning. "You're definitely sleeping with us, cat. I don't want anyone near Adelle if I'm not there."

"Wow, Marcus... you're really jealous." Adelle laughed.

I gaped, "You do have a purpose Riona!" That's when I noticed her crying, why was she crying?

"No! You're not going to die for that!" I said quickly. "While that would be a noble death, it would be much more great if you did so, and survived. You just need to learn how to control your magic."

Adelle was shaking her head. "Your purpose, although not yet seen, is very important! Very, very important!"
