I leaned my head up and kissed his lips, "My knight in shining armor..." I replied softly, this wasn't a romantic restaurant, but it was our place and always would be.

I looked across the street and smiled.

"I like to talk about how we met."

I laughed. "Ah yeah, I felt that a couple days after too. Remember? I tripped over a bench while I was chasing the bus down to get your number... I looked like an idiot."

"Very worth it. And now, I'm engaged to the most gorgeous girl on the planet... all because she decided to give me, of all people, her phone number." I laughed. "Which reminds me... what possessed you to do that? I was a dork with chocolate ice cream all over my face who'd never even kissed a girl under any circumstances, let alone, gotten a number."

I leaned against his chest as I thought back on it and then smiled, "I saw you everyday but I wasn't ever sure if you saw me... so when I got the chance I decided it was time to talk. But not before panicking, no, I thought you might be a pervert or something."

"Oh, wow... so I was a geek who didn't associate with girls, had chocolate all over his face, and looked like a pervert... awesome." I laughed. "I hope I don't fit that profile anymore... that'd be pretty embarrassing for you."

"No, not at all. I was just paranoid because I never even had a boyfriend before or really talked with guys. My school, you know, it's a private school..." I admitted.

I fiddled with my engagement ring and contemplated what he said, "Let's see what my parents think..." I offered, "They may tell me to finish school before I start planning."

We'd already finished eating when we'd come up on this decision. It was Dad's day off and his opinion would be important but I knew he would probably just rub it off.

I held the door open for her with a somewhat nervous smile. Her dad still intimidated me a bit with his... strange ways of doing things.

"Oh there you are!" Mom called as she led us into the living room, "I'm always on my toes with you, Amber..."

Dad walked into the room and we all sat down before I displayed my hand. Both my parents just stared and then looked at me like it wasn't real.

"We're engaged." I grinned.

"Have you set a date?" Mom asked eagerly, "I mean... when is this happening? You don't graduate until May, Rhema and..." She looked at my chest which suggested she was thinking of my heart.

"I'll be okay."

Dad was just smiling but then he stared at Kyle as if just being smacked with realization. "Wait, wait a minute." He said with a laugh, "You're taking my baby girl away?"

I could have sworn he began to pout.

"You seem reliable..." Dad said but then I saw him smirk, "But to be sure, let's go outside and spar for a little while!" He stood up and then went to the closet pulling out two medium sized wooden blades.

"S-Spar?" I gaped.

"He will win you from me!" Dad was insane. >.<

I stared at him. "Well, okay then..." I took one of the wooden swords from him and stared at it. Fighting was something I really didn't normally do.

Mom and I went to the backyard with Dad and Kyle. The look on Dad's face suggested that he'd go easy on him, he was probably just trying to have fun.

I sat down and tried not to get too worked up or anything. It was just a silly fight.

I stood how I thought I should, though the man was probably trying not to laugh at me. I really had no idea what I was doing...

In the end, I lost miserably, but I stayed in there for a long time until I literally just collapsed. I sat there on the grass, my hair drenched and clinging to my face because of the sweat. Actually, my whole body was drenched in sweat. I tried to catch my breath and gulped a couple times. If I could move my arms at all, I'd be surprised.
