Re: To Whom It May Concern
"Wow. See Matthew, I told you this would happen if you didn't have more publicity. Dang."
I was about ready to meet with the table myself but that burger was calling my name, "Wow. And shut up, Dan. I don't need more publicity. Some people just don't pay attention to stuff like that."

Re: To Whom It May Concern
What the heck were they talking about? I never did keep up with the media. Mostly because I didn't have time.
"Umm.... okay..."
"Umm.... okay..."
Re: To Whom It May Concern
"Dan, stop fuming. It's not that I-"
"No, I'll be back."
"But your food is going to get cold!" I shouted, "Think about the soul who made you that out of the kindness of their hearts!"
He was out the door.
"I hate being publicized but it's part of my career. I'm a singer, that's my CD." I stared at it, "He's just ticked off because I'm not popular enough I guess."

"Oh? I'm sorry... I just don't pay too much attention to the media." I turned to the door and frowned. "But... shouldn't you go after him? After all, he seems pretty angry..."
Re: To Whom It May Concern
"He'll cool off. He's not an easy one to talk to and he's worried that I'll lose my career over stuff like that but I think I have enough fans. It's kind of why I'm here because there are a couple over obsessed people." I picked up my burger.
Re: To Whom It May Concern
"Oh... well... I guess you don't have to worry about me, huh?" I said with a small laugh. "I mean... the last big artist I heard about was James Dean... after that, I just stopped listening to the media. All it's for is to spy on people's personal lives... that's not very appealing to me."
"Rae! Get back to work!"
"Rae! Get back to work!"
Re: To Whom It May Concern
That wasn't right. I was starting to feel a little bit angry so I just sat there in silence. Maybe she wasn't the person I thought she was. I figured I could come back later.
She was rude. Very rude.

"So -"
"Rae! Come on! Do your chatting outside of work!"
I frowned. "Um... I have to get back to work. It was nice meeting you!" I turned and rolled back to the kitchen. I liked the guy... he was really nice.

Re: To Whom It May Concern
I hated my career all of a sudden. Dan didn't take long to get back and he was a little more collected by then. We ate lunch and I sat out the tip early for her.

-Next Day-
I love the rain. And currently, it's a downpour. People are coming in, absolutely drenched and asking for coffee to warm up.
I refilled another cup of coffee with a smile.

Re: To Whom It May Concern
I returned once again and this time I knew exactly what I would do. I was going to use force. Dan was off and I was roaming around all on my own.
"Hey, Rae!" I called, "Today, should you pass, you will stop waitressing!"

Re: To Whom It May Concern
I was in the middle of rolling back to the kitchen when he startled me. I almost fell over with a pot of coffee in hand but I grabbed onto a nearby table to steady myself. I set the coffee pot on the counter and rolled to him. "What are you talking about? Do you want to get me fired?"
I couldn't help but smile though. He was cute...

Re: To Whom It May Concern
"Exactly because I think you have more potential than this!" I shouted, still standing in the doorway to the diner.
Re: To Whom It May Concern
I chuckled. "Well, at least someone does!" I replied after covering my ears at his shout. "But I'll really be out of work if you keep yelling like this..."
Re: To Whom It May Concern
After her work was done I dragged her somewhere where I'd be meeting my manager. I had to test her. I just had a feeling about her that was making me crazy!
Re: To Whom It May Concern
"Where are we? Why are we here?" I asked curiously, looking around the building we were in.
Re: To Whom It May Concern
"DAN!" I shouted. He instantly ran out with a microphone and then jumped off the stage like it was on fire.
"We," I began, "are going to see what kind of hidden talent you have. Because I just can't stand seeing you in that silly uniform anymore. Cute, but not you."

Re: To Whom It May Concern
"Um... okay... so what's the microphone for?"
Oh man... I dearly hope he doesn't expect me to sing.

Re: To Whom It May Concern
"I want you to sing to me. Because somehow I just don't think you are meant to skate and serve for the rest of your life." I sat back in the chair while Dan was on the phone with someone. The way he talked I assumed he was talking to his daughter.
Re: To Whom It May Concern
I turned bright red... but I assumed I didn't have much of a choice. What would I sing? I had no idea! I mulled over a few songs in my head before finally settling on Amazing Grace. It was an easy-ish tune and I at least knew the words...
So there I went. I belted out the lyrics. I was a bit shaky at first from fear, then I became a little more confident.
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now I am found. Twas blind, but now I see..."

Re: To Whom It May Concern
Dan had completely gaped and I couldn't seem to get my bearings. Not only was she beautiful, she had a voice to match. Instead of complimenting her completely I started to sing too. Our voices meshed well.
Then I stopped, "Hey, where have you been hiding?" I asked.
Then I stopped, "Hey, where have you been hiding?" I asked.
Re: To Whom It May Concern
I turned bright bright red. "Um... under a rock... behind a tree and in a waitress's costume."
Re: To Whom It May Concern
The smile on my face immediately turned into a grin before I started to laugh. I jumped onto the stage and hugged her, "Dan! What are we going to do with her huh? She's amazing!"
"We'll see what we can do." Dan said, back on the phone.
I gave her a squeeze and then turned to look right at her, "You aren't going to hide anymore."

Re: To Whom It May Concern
I stared up at him. "B-but... I don't know if I can sing in front of other people..." I replied, turning redder the closer he stood to me. And the closer he stood, the less I could breathe.
Re: To Whom It May Concern
"But you sang in front of me! I think if you can sing in front of me you can sing in front of George Washington!" I exclaimed, "Seriously, that's talent!"
