Hmm. Kassandra Roland. I'd like to change my name too some day. I smiled at that. "It bust be nice... being able to share a name with the one you love. I can only imagine it." Their lives were all so very romantic. I could only wish that mine would be like that some day.

"You'll get to change yours eventually! Trust me!" Katie grinned.

I only smiled. Yes, eventually. But I was already twenty-two. I didn't want to wait too much longer for that.

"It took Zack five years to propose to Katie though, they only recently gotten married!" I was always poking a little bit of fun at Katie and Zack, they were a really random couple.

"Yeah, he wanted to finish school first and now they are in the process of moving out of this old apartment into a house that Zack's uncle is building them!"

"Oh wow! That's really cool." I replied. And it was! I could already tell they'd have a great life.

"And Keely's husband, my brother Eli, is going to school to be a paramedic! He's taking a ton of classes at a time so he can graduate quickly so he and Keely can move out!"

I sighed dreamily, "He'll be the most handsome paramedic..." I settled my elbows on the table and sipped at my lemonade, daydreaming about my hubby using a defibrillator on someone.

Katie laughed. "He will! I can't deny that Eli is cute! I love him to death! And I think the new earring really adds something!"

I smiled. They talked so much about the men they loved. I wanted to be part of that someday.

I was determined to make Kassie my best friend after that, I leaned over and gave her a hug, "She's so sweet!" I commented, "I could always enjoy having another big sister!"

-Later in the day-

I ran down the stairs that night after having changed. The girls bought me a lot of nice clothes and pajamas... but I chose to wear the pajama pants and Hayden's shirt. It was soft and I liked that it made me look like a little kid. I stepped into the den where he was. It was cleaner now that we had worked on it for a bit. We had decided to try and finish it tomorrow. We had also managed to stop by my trailer and get my glasses and then sell it back to the park owners.

So I had my glasses on with Hayden's shirt and some pajama pants with frogs all over them and my fluffy lion's mane pulled back in a high-top ponytail.

I was grilling some chicken in pasta sauce to have over linguine noodles, it was my specialty and the chicken was often cooked to perfection. What can I say? Food can be an art too and I am an artist! My hair was wet from showering about ten minutes earlier and according to Keely, this was a nasty habit, but my shirt was wet because I never actually towel dried off. I had my glasses off and wearing some baggy pajama pants and a long tee shirt that was actually covered in paint splatters.

"Hey! Wanna help with dinner?" I called.

I'm not sure what it was, but I felt like my heart melted. I nodded and ran into the kitchen, nearly falling over. "U-Um, what should I help with? I usually just eat salad..."

"I have stuff in the fridge to make a Cesar Salad, get out the dressing, onions, feta cheese and lettuce." I normally kept ingredients in one side of the fridge so I'd remember it was all there.

I was becoming really proud of my chicken, grilled to PERFECTION. <3

I nodded and began pulling out ingredients as ordered. "What next?" I asked when all of the ingredients were lined up neatly. I happened to look down at my feet and frowned. They were cold and this shirt only reached to my ankles. I should have gotten some socks while we were out and about. Well, it would be a nice birthday present. Until then, I decided to just ignore them.

"Tear up that lettuce and toss it in this bowl, I'll cut the onions in a sec..." I handed her the bowl and continued to watch the chicken, "Do you want a big chicken breast or a small one? I have a few on here..." I wasn't sure how to host anything, I'd never really had company.

"Small, please. I don't really eat a lot.." I said softly, smiling. "Thank you." I washed my hands and began tearing it up in medium sized pieces. "Like this? Or do you want them smaller?"

"You're doing fine!" I looked at her closer and frowned, "You need to start eating a little more, it's really not healthy to eat so little. No one is watching your for your weight anymore."

I stared at him. "I don't look healthy?" I really hadn't realized it. "I'm too skinny? I-I didn't know. I'm sorry! I-I'll eat more then!!"

"No I mean... eat what you are comfortable eating, I'm just saying you don't need to eat small portions, eat as much as you want but don't overeat..."

"Oh, I'm sorry... I tend to take suggestions as orders sometimes." I looked down the collar of his shirt. "Is it because my ribs are visible that you know I'm too skinny...?" I asked, head still down my shirt.

"It was more that you said you usually just eat salads but you do look pretty thin, it's not terrible though." I felt bad for making her think I was telling her what to do. D:

I pulled my head out of my shirt and laughed a little. "Oh, well, that's because they're cheap. I've been eating them for a while now. Only desperate men pay for a short skinny girl." I went back to tearing the lettuce up. "And they don't usually pay more than twenty dollars... which is enough for a salad. But I think I've recently become addicted to pizza..."

"Good, because you really don't need to be worrying about making money unless you really want to do something for yourself, you have family now." I started to lay out a big platter for the chicken and pasta and then set it on the island where I'd put bar stools around it. "Just put the salad next to the pasta and chicken when you finish!"

'Family.' Really? Did he really consider me as part of his family? "Okay!" I tried to hurry up so I wouldn't keep him waiting. I'd gotten distracted and forgot to continue tearing the lettuce! D: But finally, I was finished and I mixed all the other ingredients with it! =D

"I'm done!!"

"Great, great! Let's chow down!" I began to dish out chicken and pasta and then ran back to the oven to get the garlic bread out and then run back to the kitchen island.

"Bread for you, pasta, chicken and what a beautiful salad!" I said as a compliment, "It looks delicious!"

I laughed. "Silly, you told me how to make it!" I'm sure I was blushing though. There was something about this guy that really made me feel at peace.

"I know but you were the one that put the ingredients in the bowl and mixed it up to look that nice." I smirked and then bowed my head to bless the food.

"And thank You Lord for bringing Kassie into our lives or for bringing us into her life, heal her heart God in the places you know she needs healing." I paused and then finished, "Amen."

I opened my eyes after the prayer and looked up at him, my eyes filled with tears. "T-Thank you for praying for me. You didn't have to!" I held my plate tight so I wouldn't drop it while I was shaking and trying to serve myself.
