I felt guilty, "I don't know... I guess if you want to." He was being positive so I wanted to try and be more positive too.

I smiled up at her. "I am so glad you aren't hurt... are you? Your prosthetic... did it hurt your leg?" I glanced down but I couldn't see.

I shook my head, "I got a bit of a shiner... but other than that nothing really hurts, I think the bandages on my thigh saved me from getting some pretty bad scratches and burns but... I'm fine." I felt bad for being fine.

He got stabbed. T-T

I pulled her face toward me and kissed her eye where that man had rudely punched her. >(

"I'm sorry he hit you... I should have been more helpful." I said softly. I felt so bad that she'd lost her things, her shirt, dignity, gotten punched and kept me from bleeding when all I was able to do was tell him I didn't have a wallet and get stabbed.

"It's not your fault... I just suddenly decided to be a hero, I couldn't let him touch you again after he stabbed you." I felt my stomach where apparently he'd kneed me during the scuffle, I hadn't noticed before.

I shook my head. "I should be thanking you... but you really put yourself in danger, Keely." I said softly. "What if you had gotten hurt worse, or he had done horrible things to you?" I shook my head. "I can't even think about it." My eyes were wet... I was tearing up. What if I'd lost her because she was so brave? OnO

I was so thankful but the fear was just as intense.

"None of those things occurred to me until I got on the ambulance with you..." I answered shakily, "How do I go back to being carefree after this? I can't even think straight."

I shook my head. "You spend a lot of time with Amanda, Katie and Andy... they'll sort you out." I smiled up at her. I was certain this had made me even more protective of Keely.

And about that time, Ian and Katie burst through the door of my room. -_-;;

"ELI!!" Katie exclaimed. "Keely! Are you two okay?!"

"You two scared us! Everyone else wants to come visit but we're only allowed a few visitors at a time!" Ian raked his hands through his hair, I spotted his phone in his hand and noticed that he kept glancing down at it. >.>

"That's probably for the best... there's so many of you." I laughed a little, "I'm okay..." I glanced at Eli.

"Ah..." I turned red. "I got stabbed...."

"OH MY DUCK! ELI! What did you do?!" D<

"I uh... I left my wallet at home and the guy thought I was lying so he stabbed me...?"

"You act like it's nothing." I said as I crossed my arms, "You have no idea how terrified I was..." Then I looked at my hands and my eyes widened in horror.

I'd forgotten to wash them.

I grabbed my pillow and quickly dropped it over her hands. "No looking! It's bad for you." I smiled. "Katie, please take her to-"

"Yeah! Okay!" She grabbed Keely's hand and grinned. "Let's get you all washed up!" And out they went. I wondered if Katie realized there was a bathroom in the room. ._.

I followed Katie out reluctantly and glanced back to Elijah, I really wanted to just sit with him but I guessed that was kind of out of the question for the moment. T____T

"She's downstairs in the waiting area... but I'm making sure they don't call if she... suddenly goes into labor or something..." I kicked my foot and pretended like I was being pretty laid back about it but that was a lie. >___<

"Ian... she's only... well, yeah, eight months. Okay, that's about the time to worry..." I reached for the cup of water which used to be ice and took a drink. I was so thirsty! O:

"Ian... I failed. I couldn't protect her. She protected me instead. How do I think past that? I mean, I couldn't help her when he punched her..."

Ian sat down and kicked his feet out, flipping his phone open and closed several times before he could really respond, "I know... it kinda makes you feel weak... but you did protect her, you took the brunt of it for her! If you'd not stood in front of her..."

I sighed. "Yeah, but still... it's irritating." I shook my head. "And she's terrified of blood. Serves me right for promising I'd hide the blood for her. Ugh, I was the source of trauma." I grabbed my pillow back and shoved it under my head again.

"She told the operator that I'm her boyfriend..."

"Oh really now? You know that's going to travel pretty fast in this family, right?" I leaned back and laid my phone next to me, she wasn't going to call and Sean was not going to be born today.

I nodded. "The girls will at least. They've been pushing it for a while now." I scratched my head and cringed in pain. The motion pulled at my stomach. "Just... don't let the girls suffocate her, please? She's a little sensitive about this for some reason."

"I won't, she'll be fine! We're just an overwhelming bunch of people that's all and we kind of populate like rabbits..." I paused and picked up my phone to text Andy, "Speaking of which..."

I sent her a text, the most annoying text ever.

How are you feeling?

Yeah.

I was pretty sure she was going to hate that before long.

"Mm... we do." I yawned a little. "I'm going to go ahead and bet the next pregnancy in the family is twins. We know it runs in the family so one of us has got to have twins." I said with a smile. "I just hope it's not my future family. I'd have enough trouble keeping up with a wife... but kids?" I shook my head. Not two at once. I'm afraid I'd turn out a ball of stress like you." I thought a while. "But I suppose it wouldn't be so bad. I do like kids. Well, at least Kara and Lane. Amanda got into everything, so she was a pain."

"One is bad all by itself, trust me. Most twin pregnancies are high risk... sometimes I guess." I shrugged, "Katie was breech and I wasn't..." I waited to get a text back, when she took forever I freaked out normally.

"I'm not sure, but I'm not too concerned there, that's more of Zack's worry than ours don't you think?" I chuckled a little bit at the idea of Katie getting pregnant and telling Zack what to do. Fun. 8O
