I laughed softly, "Don't worry so much, I'm tough! I was also born premature and they say that premies are the tough ones, after all I've been through just enough that nothing really scares me anymore." I crossed my arms and held my head high.

I had to let go of my pride.

"Ah, true!" I smiled. "Just don't trip again... on the off chance you do get hurt." I shoved my hands in my pockets and sighed. She almost reminded me of Andy when she first met our family. She was prideful and defensive, though this girl was just prideful. "So, I like the pictures you drew for Amanda, they were really nice."

I blushed again, he was so sweet and gentle and I couldn't believe I'd never met him before. My throat was still tight so when I replied my voice came out at a strange tone.

"Oh, I'm glad. I love drawing for people." I looked at my hands, covered in paint and char coal. I loved a lot of different mediums.

"If you could, my Mom would probably love it if you could draw her a picture of Amanda. She doesn't get to see her often because of our two youngest siblings. They have her running around everywhere."

I smiled softly, "Alright, I'll talk to her and see what she wants done, I work with a lot of mediums so..." I gaped suddenly when we stopped in front of a huge house, "Is this...?"

"Heh, yep... our family can't live in anything smaller than this. It was a gift to my parents from my grandfather." I smiled and led her to the door. "You ready to meet the family?"

"Yeah, I'm ready!" I took a deep breath, this house was huge and for just a second I felt a little bit overwhelmed, but that wasn't bad.

I opened the door and all the noise in the house stopped and everyone turned to stare at the girl I'd brought home with me.

"Everyone, this is Keely, she's-"

"You're girlfriend?!" Andy exclaimed loudly. "Oh yay!!! You've finally got a girl! Katie!! Eli's finally got a girlfriend!!"

"REALLY?!" Katie ran into the den from the kitchen and gasped. "Eli, she's so beautiful!!"

What? ._.

"Zack! Ian! Eli has a girlfriend!!!"

"NO WAY!" Someone ran in and grabbed Katie, I assumed this was Zack and then a darker skinned boy came down as well, must have been Ian, he looked a lot like Katie. 8O

"SERIOUSLY? Eli, I had no idea you had it in you!" He shouted.

"I'm n-"

"When did you two meet?" Zack asked.

I sighed. "Today, and she's not my girlfriend... just a friend of Amanda's. I invited her to dinner to thank her for keeping Amanda company when we can't be there."

"Oh." Andy frowned. "You should have taken her on a date, Eli! Look how pretty she is!!"

I gulped when Katie nodded her agreement. "Yeah, look how gorgeous! I can't believe you passed up the opportunity! Oh! Look Andy, he's blushing!!"

I sighed. "I'm gonna go order the pizza."

I felt kind of bad suddenly, like he was embarrassed and it was mainly my fault. I smiled and thought about leaving so I wouldn't make it worse but I guessed that was out of the question.

"E-Excuse me..." I walked outside and shut the door behind me, taking a few deep breaths.

I watched her walk outside and turned around and followed her. I opened the door and shut it quietly behind me. "I-I'm sorry if they were a bit much for you. They can be a bit over-bearing at times." I put a hand on her shoulder. "I'm really sorry.."

I turned to face him and frowned, "No, it's not that... I just felt bad for embarrassing you... we can try again..." I offered nervously.

"It wasn't you... it was my family. They think it's amazing that I've gotten all the way to seventeen and haven't dated, so to them, any girl I'm around is a potential girlfriend." I said softly. "Don't worry too much about it. You don't embarrass me. Now, what kind of pizza do you want?"

"Um, ham... thank you." I thought about his family, they all seemed so close and mine was close like that too only we didn't have so many people living in one space.

We were back in the house again and I was introduced to everyone.

I got the pizza orders and flopped on the couch with my cellphone, calling the pizza place.

I pulled the girl aside and grinned at her. Man, she was just gorgeous! "So, you're name's Keely, huh?" I asked sweetly. "Isn't Eli cute?" I winked at her. "Don't worry, no more pressure here... but I think he likes you..."

"We only met less than an hour ago... I don't think he likes me." I smiled a little bit and kicked my leg lazily, "I..."

"Andy! What do you want on your salad?! We have an appointment in less than an hour!"

I sighed. Ian, I'ma kill you. "Chicken please." >.> I smiled at Keely. "Don't be so quick to assume that! Eli's known for being quiet about what he's feeling, so he expresses it in odd ways! I gotta go eat now..." I frowned and ran into the kitchen.

I jumped up from the couch and shut my phone. "The pizzas are being made! Yay!" I grinned at Keely, then at everyone else.

Why were my hands shaking so badly? And why was everyone trying to put me with Elijah after only knowing him for an hour? I wasn't sure what to think and I couldn't look in his eyes because them my stomach would form a knot.

"Ah, yeah, so... want me to show you around the house?" I smiled to Keely. "I can show you Amanda's room, though there's not much to it... except that she has a Wii..."

I nodded, "Okay, thanks." So he started showing me the upstairs, "You have a really neat family." I offered as we walked down the hall.

I nodded. "Yeah, they're great, but they can be so darn pushy at times! They don't know when to stop!" I laughed. "This is Amanda's room!" I opened the door and grinned. It was so obviously a girl's room, it was funny! "She calls it her haven."

"It's pretty, and so much more comfortable than where she is now... I wish she were here instead of there." I admitted and then turned around.

I sighed. "You're not the only one. I miss Amanda a lot, she was my best friend and I don't get to see her as often anymore. It's upsetting."

"Well... two more days and she'll be home." I said but I knew from experience that it wasn't the same, she'd be sick, tired and probably would sleep a lot. Her body was fighting it off.
