"That sounds a little frightening!" I giggled, "But cool!" I looked at my slushie and continued to drink it with a big smile, this moment would be a moment I wanted to stay in forever.

I frowned suddenly at those words, how could I promise him something like that... what if? I didn't want to think of the what ifs... but I didn't want to break his heart either.

"I..." I paused again and sighed.

I hugged her from the side and smiled to her. "Ah, well... you don't have to answer right away! Let's go ahead and get to the gym. I need to practice some and we need to get you a good seat!"

I nodded and really wanted to cry because if I made a promise like that and something went wrong with me... then I would have broken that promise.

I wanted so badly to promise that.

I helped her into the car and sighed a little after closing the door. I shouldn't have asked her that. I'm sorry, Amanda.

I opened my door and got in the car, starting it up soon after and off we headed to the gym. "So yeah... I'm addicted to cola slushies now!"

"Oh, that's good. They are yummy aren't they?" I smiled at him, still contemplating the promise that he wanted me to make, he got quiet after that and then I felt bad for not answering him. "I don't want to break any promises..."

"Sorry, I wasn't thinking about your feelings." I said softly. "I was being pretty selfish, don't worry about it!" I smiled happily. I perfected that when my own sister was in the hospital, but she was always able to tell when it wasn't a real smile. She said my eyes betrayed me. "So anyway, you don't have to answer that until you ready! Even if that time is never!" I grabbed her hand in mine and squeezed it comfortingly.

"Y-You weren't being selfish, I want to promise you that I can do that but I feel like... if I died... then you'd be angry with me or you wouldn't move on... I don't want that to happen." That was a hard thing to say.

I shook my head. "Everyone dies at some point, I know that. I just want you to be with me as long as we're alive. I'll be with you too. It's a two way thing."

"I don't want to die like this..." I tapped my fingers anxiously on my lap, "I don't want to die because I lost a fight to cancer... it's a long battle but I don't want to get weak and fail."

I nearly ran a red light when she said that. I looked over at her, visibly surprised, I'm sure. "W-Wha... you're serious?"

"Hmm..." I frowned. I couldn't homeschool and play on that team at the same time. "Umm... I'll talk to the teachers about online work! But I'll continue playing! And the games you can't come to, I'll have Mom and Dad video tape them for you! And I'll always save you one of each prize!"

I tilted my head, "You're doing a lot... that's... amazing." I didn't think men got this dedicated until they were much older but I was so wrong.

"Anything for you! I'll do whatever you want me to!" I pulled into the gym parking lot at the school and parked at the back entrance. "I'm your boyfriend as much as your my girlfriend. So that means I need to give back the love I'm getting in some way, right?" I laughed. "And I'm getting a ton of love, so it's hard..."
