Re: Fantastic Generation
Rayde stared at her for what felt like a long time and then he nodded, "If that is what I must do!" He scooped her up in his arms and faded into their room. Taking off her clothes had become such an easy task.
Re: Fantastic Generation
The next morning came rather quickly to Zephyr. He yawned loudly and rolled out of his bed even though he didn't want to get up. He'd gone to bed rather late because he'd started late on the chores. He felt kind of bad for that, but he didn't regret it. He got to meet Elasia and learn her name. To him, going to bed late was worth it. He stretched a bit and pulled on his pants, neglecting a shirt. It was probably going to be hot fairly soon, and he'd just drop his shirt off somewhere later anyway. He prepared and ate breakfast, his mom still wasn't awake yet, so he set the leftovers in the oven to keep warm for her. After that, he headed out to feed the cows and chickens and get the chores started so he could maybe have a longer nap at lunch.

Sera frowned a little as she stared through the scrying mirror. "He's already awake and doing chores while all of ours are asleep. He seems very responsible."

Re: Fantastic Generation
"Maybe I should go help..." Rayde offered, "Maybe I can do something for his family without breaking the laws..." He wanted to provide them a better home, clothes and such... that could be easy enough to hold.
Re: Fantastic Generation
Sera glanced up at him, a little confused. "There are laws against helping them? That's kind of stupid. Whenever I see that boy, I just want to hug him tight and do all of his work for him so he can just... rest. Didn't you say he was working when you picked him up? He went from being impaled, and after Elasia healed him, he went right back to work. I've never seen someone like that before."
Re: Fantastic Generation
"It's not that, I can't give them money... but I can give them a better home to live in and clothing. There are laws against using magic to make money." Rayde explained, "It's like forgery."
Re: Fantastic Generation
"Oh, I see..." Sera nodded slowly. "I was already working on some clothes, but I wasn't sure what size his mother would be, so I wasn't sure if they would fit or not." She kicked her legs back and forth on the stool she was perched upon. "What I'm wondering is why the townspeople don't help him. He's all alone." Sera wiped a few stray tears from her eyes and sighed heavily. "I want to help make him nice clothes... if you help with the home. But let's not make them too grand. We don't want him to feel like a charity case."
Re: Fantastic Generation
"I'll do what I can." Rayde said, "Elasia should be feeling better enough to help with clothes now... I'm going to go see Zephyr."
Re: Fantastic Generation
Sera smiled and kissed Rayde's lips. She loved him so much. "You are such a good man, and you are dear to my heart. I love you so much... thank you for helping him." She released him after that to begin drawing out clothing designs and such, making certain she was prepared before Elasia woke up to help.
Re: Fantastic Generation
"I'm going out there now... I will see you in a little while." Rayde returned her kisses and then teleported himself to where Zephyr was working.
Re: Fantastic Generation
Zephyr jumped a slight when Elasia's father, Rayde, appeared before him. "Wah! U-Uh... H-Hi!" He smiled, holding a bale of hay. "How is Elasia? I was kind of worried about her last night when she was coughing up blood."
Re: Fantastic Generation
"She's just fine, her magic was at its limit but now she's better enough to us it again... albeit in small doses." Rayde sat down, "So... I've decided I'm going to help you today!"
Re: Fantastic Generation
"H-Help me? How?" Zephyr glanced around, there was a lot of things that needed to be done after feeding the cows their hay. He needed to go and cut down the wheat and bundle it up to sell. That would take all day. But he hadn't had help before, his mother was ill, she'd worried herself so much after his father died that she'd fallen ill, so she didn't help him either. Why was this man suddenly wanting to help? He didn't know, but he would definitely appreciate another set of hands.
Re: Fantastic Generation
"Let's start with feeding the cows... let's say we add this..." He flicked his wrist and automatically, food showed up. "Let's say it feeds them around this time every morning... that's a chore done, not saying you have to be lazy, but you are working alone. What else? How about medicine for you mother?"
Re: Fantastic Generation
"M-Medicine?" Zephyr's eyes were wide, he was still staring at the cow stables. He looked down and the bale of hay he'd been carrying was gone. The magic must have used it up. "I dunno what ails her. Doctors don't come out this far, and she's worried herself sick. She don't cook anymore either. Can you really make medicine for her?"
Re: Fantastic Generation
"If it's just worrying... I know how to cure that." Rayde chuckled, "She'll be fine in no time flat... don't worry anymore... we're taking care you and her now, just relax and leave it all to me!"
Re: Fantastic Generation
Zephyr stared at the taller, older man. He wasn't certain how to comprehend this. Someone... was helping him. He smiled some and then nodded slowly. "Th-Thank you. My mother is inside, I'll take you to her." He set the strings that held the bail together aside, and then he began walking toward the small house, a little more skip in his step this time. "H-Have you eaten breakfast yet? There's some grits in the oven keeping warm if you want them!"
Re: Fantastic Generation
"I'll eat after a bit, but thank you though!" Rayde replied, "Let's get all of this done first and then we can have you and your mother over for lunch."
Re: Fantastic Generation
Zephyr nodded slowly. He understood from legends that wizards were fairly cautious, so he might not feel comfortable eating their food. He led Rayde to his mother who was laying ill in bed, a cool cloth on her forehead. He took her hand in his and patted it softly. "Mother... there's a friend here who says he can help you feel better."
The woman's eyes opened slowly, her mouth drawn in pain. "Oh, Zephyr... you shouldn't have... I'm fine. I need to rest a bit more, then I will cook us some lunch, alright?"
Zephyr frowned. "You ain't fine! You're sick... and you cough all night long." He looked up to Rayde. "She coughs all night long now, and she barely eats anythin'."

Re: Fantastic Generation
Rayde looked at her in concern, "I'm here to help, Ma'am..." He didn't know what was wrong but the potion he conjured in a blink was meant to help anything... it was worth a shot. "This will help, just take a sip."
Re: Fantastic Generation
Zephyr's mother sat up with his help and sipped at the potion. She was obviously very weak... and very thin.
"Will she be okay? Do ya know what's wrong with her?" Zephyr asked, obviously concerned for his mother.
"I will be fine, child. Calm down." His mother replied, her voice becoming a little more clear. "Thank you, sir, I am already beginning to feel strengthened. I am Kaya, who are you?"

Re: Fantastic Generation
"Sounds better already! I'm Rayde, a wizard from the nearby mountains... your son was badly injured recently and my daughter saved his life." He explained, "We'd like to invite you and your son to have lunch with us!"
Re: Fantastic Generation
Kaya frowned and looked to Zephyr. "You were hurt, and you didn't tell me?"
"I-I didn't wanna to worry you." Zephyr said quickly. "I'm sorry."
She sighed heavily, then turned back to the wizard. "Shouldn't we be the ones inviting you to eat with us? We are deeply indebted to you." She said, her voice fairly graceful for a farmer's widow.

Re: Fantastic Generation
"Well my daughter... Elasia, she's been rather ill since her attempt at healing - although I have to say she did an amazing job. Not even a scar on him... but she can't travel through portals, as well as she may be doing today..." He frowned, "Besides, you both need a break from working so hard don't you think? Let magic handle the chores today."
Re: Fantastic Generation
"B-But the wheat..." Zephyr stared out the window, watching as invisible hands wielded the scythes, and chopped down the wheat as other invisible hands tied them in bundles and stacked them neatly in the barn. "fields..." He gulped, watching in amazement as his days' worth of work was more than halfway finished already. "That's... amazing."
Kaya smiled gratefully and nodded. "I think my son is more in need of rest, but thank you. We would be honored to accept your offer. When shall we meet you there? If we left now, we should be in time for dinner, if you are in the mountains."

Re: Fantastic Generation
Rayde formed a portal and reached out his hand, "It's as simple as this." He said, his voice sounded excited, "Elasia can't wait to see you again, Zephyr, be prepared for a hug!"
