"Elijah saw it first hand," I said as I drove us down the street.

"He was eating a cookie and then he said he wasn't feeling good." Elijah sniffled, "He said it really hurt to breathe and that he couldn't feel his face or anything."

"He fell over!" Lane said, she was crying too.

"Why on our birthday?" I groaned, staring at the floor of the car. "It's just not fair."

"Birthdays are the days that Ian eats the most sweets!" Elijah informed us, "He's like a sweets carnivore or somethin'!"

That was true.

And I made cookies that may have had something in them that caused an allergic reaction. It was partially my fault. T-T

"I told him he needed to cut back..." I frowned, sniffling some and wiping tears. I wished this hadn't happened.

I pulled into the hospital and we all got out. I had to go to the back and get Kyle's wheelchair, it was heavier than usual to me for some reason or another.

*Two Hours Later*

It felt like someone had just knocked me over the head with a mallet. I felt numb and sore all at the same time and it was kind of hard to breathe.

What happened?

"I'm awake..." I wrapped my arms around her with tears in my eyes, I was so tired that it was hard to comprehend anything that was happening. "Got your present... with me..."

"I don't have yours..." I sniffed. "I'm sorry, w-we didn't stop by the house and I didn't know until Mom was almost to the mall and so it's still under my pillow at home..." I hugged him tight.

"Okay, we can wait... I'll go home soon." I looked at my best friend and smiled warmly, "Sorry for leaving you... at the mall like that..."

"Don't be sorry for that... be sorry for worrying my so much that I practically held a guy captive, crying in his shirt until mom came to get me! That was embarrassing!" I smiled then. "But it's okay because you're better now!"

I frowned and released him. "Well fine!"I said dramatically. "And I was just about to offer you water too! But nope! Not anymore since you said I'm heavy!" I laughed. I was just so relieved that he was okay. T^T

I knew she was joking but I was sick and it was very hard to laugh, "Okay... I'm sorry." I laughed a little bit but it hurt like crazy.

I grinned and handed him the cup of water I'd made for him when he was talking in his sleep and I thought he might want water. "There you go..."

I took a sip of it and then set it aside, "Are you angry with me, Katie...?" I asked, she seemed upset and with good reason, I'd messed up our birthday. T-T

"Nope! A little worried maybe, but not angry or upset. You just really scared me." I smiled and poked his hand. I doubted he wanted me to hold it... I knew sometimes when he didn't feel well, he wasn't quite as receptive to that stuff.

"What?" It took me a moment to realize what he was talking about. "Oh-Oh! Yeah, it was that Zachary guy... the one talking to me earlier today! He wanted to see my fish at the pet store and we were headed that way when Mom called."

I frowned a little. Everyone said that, but if he made me feel uncomfortable, I wouldn't be around him. "Okay!" I did laugh a little though. "I don't think he wants to date me or anything though!"

"We'll see..." I smiled a bit and then sat up, the oxygen plugs in my nose were starting to get irritating.
