I laughed louder and I'm sure he could hear me pretty soon because I was still laughing when I got to the food court. "Okay," I giggled. "I'm in the food court!"

"Alright! I'm over here!" I could hear her, I stood up and held up my phone really high so she could see it. "YOOO HOOOO!" I shouted, "YOU GIRL!"

I frowned, some guy walked up to her. >.> THAT GUY. Hmmm...

I had been kind of watching her for a while, between school and sometimes I'd see her around town. I had to get over my slight... shyness and introduce myself.

"Sorry for just walking up to you like this, I'm Zachery! Most call me Zack." I said.

I was a Junior, she was a Freshman... what was I thinking?

I stopped and stared at him for a moment. "Oh hi! Nice to meet you!" I grinned, shaking his hand. "I'm Katie!"

"It's nice to meet you too, I hope I'm not interrupting anything..." I looked around, maybe she was doing something? I hated interrupting things. I wasn't normally the type to be rude on accident or on purpose.

"Oh, I was just about to meet up with my brother! It's our birthday so we were gonna just... do stuff!" I grinned. "But it's okay, do you need something?" I asked happily, looking up at him. He was taller than me. But then, most everyone was. He seemed really nice! Though I know Ian would beg to differ. Everyone always says I'm too trusting, but I don't think so! I think I'd be able to tell if someone wanted to be mean to me!

I was about to confess that I liked her but I stopped myself because I knew it would be a bad time to do that. I smiled warmly and then shook my head, "No, I just wanted to meet you. Um... I'll see you at school!" I gave a polite goodbye and went on my way.

That kind of... OH SHOOT!

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I called.

"Thank you!!!" I called back before skipping over to Ian. "Hello there, brother of mine!" I said, sounding might chipper.

"Was that Zachery McGregor?" I asked, gaping, "He's like... the school's genius..." I raised my brows a bit as I watched him walk away. "He's freaking taller than I am..."

"He's awkward because he's just recently stopped being kind of... introverted, according to some gossip I've heard." I didn't partake in that stuff but it was easy to hear people talking in school. "He's just too smart..."
