"Uhuh..." Amoneha sniffled again, her heart was finally starting to go back to normal but she was shaking even then. "Thank you so much for rescuing me..."

[Jayrin]

Adder smiled and then chuckled some. "Hmm... twice? You're welcome..." He seemed contently pleased with himself, but over-all hadn't noticed the form he'd shifted into. "I have to admit, the jingling was interesting to hear with you hanging on for dear life."

[Ikuar]

"I see..." Amoneha hid her face from him and closed her eyes, she was so tired and it was like all the energy had been drained out of her. "Your face is really nice."

[Jayrin]

"Huh? Oh... thanks." He smiled then and hugged her as best he could while holding her. "Your face is really nice too!"

[Ikuar]

Amoneha smiled, "Thanks..." She had decided already, now that she was calming down, that she'd only be like this with him... she couldn't show this to anyone. "Please don't tell anyone."

[Jayrin]

Adder nodded quickly. "I won't say a word if you don't tell anyone about my true form. I don't want anyone else to see it." He smiled to her. "No one will ever know you had a scared moment."

[Ikuar]

"Thank you for that, I don't want anyone to know that I've cried or anything... I feel like it'd ruin my reputation." Amoneha stopped hiding her face so she could see how close they were.

[Jayrin]

"You're welcome... I won't tell soul. As far as everyone knows, you are still as scary as ever." He grinned and then offered her a wink. "Anyway, we're almost to the gates of the city, so I'm going to change back to the Adder everyone knows." He shifted then, back to his short, black hair and blue eyes.

[Ikuar]

"I can't walk but I'll hide my face..." Amoneha shifted so she could cover her face with her hood. She couldn't let anyone see that she'd been crying, it would be humiliating.

[Jayrin]

Adder nodded some. "Alright then, act like you're asleep." He smiled then when they walked through the gates of the city. Amon was easily recognized by the people, but they couldn't see her face and to their knowledge, she was asleep. They oohed, and ahhed, and praised Adder for a job well done at bringing her back, and they cheered happily. Amon was definitely beloved by all. In their eyes, she kept the town safe.

Pretending she was asleep, Amoneha heard the people cheering, and from beneath her cloak she couldn't help but smile a little. She knew well that she was loved but how much? She hadn't known until this very moment.

[Jayrin]

Adder grinned to himself, and entered the castle through the gates, holding Amon closely and protectively. Without stopping to speak to anyone, he arrived in her room and shut her door. "You're in you room now, it's alright." He said softly with a smile.

[Ikuar]

Amoneha looked around and frowned at the same time, things were still a little messy but not as bad as she thought it'd be. There were still blood stains on the floor, however. "It looks like someone died..."

[Jayrin]

Adder laid her on her bed and shrugged. "I thought the maids were going to clean that. Well, I'll get you a new rug and make sure it all looks better or something..." He said softly, rubbing the back of his neck. "You probably want to sleep though, so I'll inform the King to not disturb you until tomorrow."

[Ikuar]

"Yes... thank you very much. You should sleep too." Amoneha closed her eyes and immediately slept, with nothing but her cloak for warmth. She didn't seem to care much though and was at peace.

[Jayrin]

Adder smiled to smiled and and nodded a bit. "I will." He said, his voice no more than a whisper when he left. After informing the king, he went home and as soon as he was on his bed, he was asleep.

Things seemed just a little normal, every so often Amoneha would have to interrogate someone but it was a rare occurrence and she wasn't called on very much. She and Adder were so far, becoming better friends and he would sneak visits.

[Jayrin]

"I brought you apple pie again!" Adder grinned, stepping into Amon's room. He shifted into his real form, the one she'd grown to like so much, and waved the pie around enticingly... then he realized she wasn't immediately there. "Amon?"

[Ikuar]

Amoneha walked out quietly from her bathroom, wearing a robe and some house slippers. "Oh... Adder!" She blushed, "I'm sorry, you've caught me off guard!"

[Jayrin]

Adder's eyes widened and his cheeks immediately turned a bright shade of red. His whole face was red in fact. The way her robe so accented her delicate features was amazing. He gulped and turned around, staring at a wall. "S-Sorry! I didn't realize you were bathing or I would have brought the pie later!"

[Ikuar]

"You're fine, I'm starving so thank you for bringing me this!" Amoneha sat down at her little table and patted the chair near hers, "Come sit with me."

[Jayrin]

Adder turned around, his face still red as he approached the table, then sat beside her. He set the pie on the table, then pulled two forks out of his pocket. "So... you haven't eaten yet?"

[Ikuar]

"No, I was sort of busy all night and then when I finally got the chance I got more busy and finally just got to take a bath." Amoneha took a fork and started to eat the pie, "This is delicious."

[Jayrin]

"Of course it's delicious!" Adder grinned. "I always pick the best ones! Anyway, I'm sorry you were busy. Are you enjoying your new rug?"

[Ikuar]

"Yes, it feels really nice on my feet." Amoneha grinned at him a little, "Thank you for everything."
