Adder tried not to laugh at that, and keep a straight face. He loved watching Amon beat liars into the ground... it was fun. >w<

"A-Ah, w-what about s-seventy? N-No! I-I mean fifty!"

"That's still... really steep." Adder frowned. "You know the laws against hiking up prices."

[Ikuar]

"These rags aren't even worth that much." Amoneha glared at him and then shifted to the other side past them, "Ma'am? Can you come here a moment?" It was the man's wife, she was fairly young looking too and carried a baby in a sling.

"Can I help you?" She smiled to her husband lovingly, obviously she cared for him deeply.

The man's eyes were about to pop out of his sockets. "F-Five! Five gold pieces for all of it! Just get out of my shop!" He exclaimed, visibly flustered by Amon.

"Okay!" Adder grinned and dropped the five pieces on the counter and turned to Amon. "Are you ready to go?"

[Ikuar]

Amoneha's eyes softened, "Thank you sir!"

"Why are you being so rude to them? We aren't going to keep any customers if you keep acting like this, we'll go broke!" The wife was visibly upset as they were leaving.

Adder was laughing when they left the shop and he shook his head. "You're pretty fun to shop with. I may have to drag you along with me next time I need to go shopping."

[Ikuar]

"You've probably been swindled your whole life." Amoneha smiled a little bit, she didn't smile very often but lately she'd been trying more. "As for shopping next time, it depends where we are. There will always be key signs."

[Jayrin]

"Ah, yeah... I probably have been..." He laughed a bit and rubbed the back of his neck some. "What key signs? I didn't see any signs..."

[Ikuar]

"Well you panicked over the high price, you already knew it wasn't normal. Then you look at the quality of your garments, as comfortable as they look, they aren't richest quality." Amoneha explained. "The price in itself is a lie."

[Jayrin]

"Well, yeah..." Adder looked at the clothes in his hands and frowned. "So then, when do I know the price he's giving me is normal? I mean... five coins for all or it is a bit too low I think... he just wanted us out of his shop."

[Ikuar]

"You'll know, it's really easy to tell actually. Five coins was just a hair short of what the real price was, fifteen." Amoneha said, "Just be a bother until they are completely honest with you."

[Jayrin]

"Oh, alright then! I should also probably take the form of some important person next time... like maybe Falknor." He gasped then. "Man! I left my torture devices in the woods! Dang!" He sighed, fairly upset about that. "It's always good to have a bag of torture devices to scare people with."

[Ikuar]

"You have me." Amoneha reminded him with a bat of her eyelashes. "I'm starving, let's go find something to eat and hope we don't get swindled again."

[Jayrin]

"Maybe the inn will give us something to eat before we go? I'm sure it wouldn't be too expensive." Adder's cheeks flushed a bright red and he gulped a bit. He didn't know how to react to her at that moment.

[Ikuar]

"That could be, let's head back there." Amoneha felt her wrist cramping a little, she was leaning so much on her cane but it seemed to be a great quality and supported her well.

[Jayrin]

Adder nodded some, then cleared his throat and led the way back. Amon was very beautiful, that much was obvious... but there was nothing between them. There couldn't be. The king loved her dearly, and Adder... well, he knew Amon didn't even see him as a prospective courtier. Not that he was... she never really did seem to trust him. Maybe because he was hiding his true form from her. Either way, it didn't matter that was one thing that would never happen.

"Maybe they have some soup... I'm cold, and something warm to eat would be nice." He commented, staring ahead to the inn.

"Yes, that would be pleasant." Amoneha wasn't sure what else to say, it felt awkward with him since they'd never really got along in the first place. She pushed the inn door open and then held it for Adder.

[Jayrin]

"Thanks..." She was definitely prone to doing things for herself, Adder observed as they walked to the bar of the inn. The young woman there who seemed to be staring dreamily at him again was almost jumping for joy when he arrived at the bar. "I'd like whatever soup is available... and whatever this lady beside me wants." He said softly, still feeling a bit flustered.

"Oh! Of course!! What would you like, Amon?" Luna grinned.

[Ikuar]

"I'll just have some soup and a small salad... oh and a cup of tea." Amoneha rested her cane against the bar and sighed tiredly, "That was such a long walk."

[Jayrin]

"Alrighty!! I'll go get that for you then!!" She grinned and winked to Adder, then skipped off into the kitchen.

Adder's eyes were wide and he turned to look at Amon. "Why.... did she just wink at me?"

[Ikuar]

"Because she wants to kiss you." Amoneha glanced at him, "I know, you can't contain yourself... it's not every day a lady likes you at all."

[Jayrin]

He frowned then and sighed. "I can contain myself just fine. She only likes me because she doesn't know me. If she knew me, she wouldn't like me." He sighed heavily and played with his fingers absently. "Besides, we'll be at war with this country soon, so there is no reason to form a relationship with her. She'd probably be killed or something during raids."

[Ikuar]

"Well aren't you positive... we won't be at war because I'm fine, the king would only have a tantrum if I'd been murdered." Amoneha huffed, "You really think there will be bloodshed?"

[Jayrin]

Adder shrugged. "I'm not certain... but that king was willing to torture you to get you to do something. Also, you were in a rotting cell. If they'd wanted to keep you alive, they would have put your someplace cleaner. The kingdom seems to be rather small. I don't know, things could get bad if that king feels insulted. Though, our kingdom would easily crush one so small as this." He looked to her with a serious frown. "Do you really think we won't go to war?"

[Ikuar]

"I don't know... if we do then we'll be fine, I promise." Amoneha thought about it, "Torture... hmm. Are you sure that's what he'd do? He seemed really stupid."

[Jayrin]

"I don't know, but he sent High Priest Falknor who has a bag of torture devices..." He sighed some. "So... do you know what he wanted you to do? It took me a few days to find you."
