"I was out cold most of the time... I don't remember much before you got there." Amoneha replied just as their food arrived and drinks arrived.

"So!! I think I've figured you two out!" Luna, the innkeeper grinned excitedly.

"O-Oh? Really now?" Adder's eyes widened some.

"Yes! I've figured you out! You are both newlyweds! But you eloped and didn't tell anyone! It's a secret, isn't it?" She winked happily.

Amoneha gave a blank glance and then nodded, "Yes... newlyweds." She didn't want anything else to be known, she was fine with lying on her own time.

Adder nodded slowly and grinned. "Yes... but don't tell anyone, okay? It's a secret!"

"Okay! I won't!!" She squealed happily and grinned to Amon, diverting her attention so Adder could eat some. "He's sooooo handsome! Congratulations!! You two will have beautiful babies!!"

Amoneha nearly choked on her soup when she heard that, "BABIES?!" She screamed, the whole bar was suddenly looking at her and she had to regain her composure. "Ahem... babies... they will be rather... cute..."

Adder stared at her for a long moment, then looked to Luna. "Forgive her... she gets rather excited over the baby topic, but her mother died in child birth and she isn't certain she wants a baby." He smiled kindly and ate his soup quietly.

Amoneha tried to control her eyes flashing, she didn't want to give herself away, "Mmm... yes, it was gruesome. Blood... everywhere. It looked like someone came in and..."

Luna's eyes were very wide and she gasped loudly, covering her mouth. "O-Oh no! That's horrible!!" She squeaked. "I am so sorry for you! But... maybe your husband could find a girl to have a baby for you? I would do it gladly, since you're so sw-"

"No." Adder replied before the woman could finish. He just continued eating his soup.

"W-What?"

"Thank you, you're so kind but I think I can try on my own... I'm sure I'd be fine." Amoneha put her hand on Luna's, "I'll keep that in mind..."

"O-Oh, alright!" Luna smiled a little, but she seemed a bit hurt at Adder's response.

Adder glanced at the two women and frowned inwardly. To force a man to cheat just to have a baby... it was horrible.

"It's not cheating if I let you." Amoneha smirked at him a little, they weren't even married, what did this even matter? "Besides... doesn't a man need a concubine?"

"What?! No!" Adder frowned. "Shouldn't his wife be enough? No man should have a concubine."

"I see, you are very loyal..." Amoneha grinned, "Thank you for the offer, my husband would rather go without children should I be unable to get pregnant. We'll just adopt an ocelot."

Luna nodded slowly, stunned at the strange couple. "I see... well, th-that's unfortunate." She glanced at Adder and began to cry. "I WOULD HAVE BORNE A CHILD FOR YOU!" She exclaimed, then ran into the kitchen.

Adder was absolutely stunned. He gulped and looked to Amon. "I don't understand. In her eyes, I was married, but she still thought I would lay in bed with her? Idiot."

"Hmmm." Amoneha finished eating, "Let's depart right now, this town is starting to make me feel strange."

Adder nodded and stood up then. "Agreed, I'm officially... scared of the inhabitants." He helped her out of her chair and handed her the cane he'd bought her. "Alright, let's go!"

Amoneha left some money behind and then they rushed out. The day went on without any other events for the most part except for Amoneha getting tired, her leg wasn't getting any better. "Hopefully we can find another town... one not so scary."

Adder stopped walking and nodded. "Let me carry you for a bit." He offered with a small smirk. "Your ankle is beginning to swell again. And yes, a less scary town would be optimal."

"You fainted last time... I can walk, it's fine." Amoneha smiled at him and continued on until they reached a hill, "Are you sure you know where we're going?"

"Yes, I do know where we're going." Adder replied, a bit irritated that she would question him. "I was trained for navigating. Also, I won't faint this time. I was just so cold at that time."

"Fine... if you insist." Amoneha climbed onto his back and rested her head on his warm shoulder, he didn't seem sick like before. "I can't wait to get home... so tired of this trip already."

Adder held her firmly and began the long trudge up the hill. "I know, you can't wait for me to be gone, and for you to get back to your comfy room and good food. I'm actually just ready to sleep in a nice bed... and eat those nice apple pies the baker across the street makes. Ah, now my mouth is watering!"

Amoneha felt stabbed when he said that but she knew she'd brought that on herself so she decided not to reply to it. "Hm... food does sound mouth watering." She said blankly.

"That sounds delightful." Amoneha gulped, what was that big lump in her throat? She thought she'd choke on it but it wasn't hurting her any. She reached back to pull her hood over her head and sighed wearily.
