I turned around and sighed, "It's a lot to take in, I've spent a long time preparing myself for it, for the fact that I have to die for no reason and all of a sudden it's all given back to me and I don't know what to think." I whispered to him, "I'm just in shock."

"Well, go look at dresses." I said softly, putting my hands on her shoulders and giving her a gentle push toward the dresses. "Maybe that will help you cope."

Someone was smiling at me and trying to show me a fabric that I might like and I smiled. I went into the shop and she got my measurements and beyond when I told her I was pregnant. I was so excited to be able to make dresses and have dresses made. <3 I even got a coat!

My 'killer' made my day.

I found some warmer boots and shoes for her. It was a huge shopping spree and I ended up spending a lot of money... but I refused to tell her the total. What good would knowing how much it cost do? >|

I was holding like, three or four bags. She ended up buying a bunch of clothes, and a bunch of fabric... and she changed into some. What she was wearing was much too cold.

"Alright... to the herbalist's shop."

"Okay." I had to be real, faking my death. I was kind of scared but I knew it would all be okay in the end. I thanked him a lot for the clothes and was so relieved at the feeling of loose fabric instead of tight and uncomfortable.

I sighed when we got there and I set the bags down by a bench on the inside. "I'm going into the back... just... stay here." I said with a sigh and walked into the back of the shop where Zoran was. I poked my head back out at her and frowned. "If anything happens, come get me."

"Oh, okay." I smiled and then sat down with the bags, my legs were so tired and I was beyond sore but I was happy too. No one seemed to be paying any attention to me there at all so I just rested my hands in my lap and waited, occasionally peeking in the door.

"I heard you were back in town." I said, crossing my arms and frowning at the tall, lanky man in front of me. "Why didn't you stop by and and tell me?"

Zaron laughed. "Ah, well you know, Jethro, I was going to, but there was this pregnant girl on your front porch, and I figured you needed to do some explaining before I scared her. Care to explain?" He took on the same stance as me, likely trying to annoy me.

I sighed and shook my head. "She's a target of mine."

"Uhuh. And you got her pregnant, didn't you?"

"N-No! No! She was pregnant when I kidnapped her, so I can't kill her, but.."

"You were going to kill her when she had the baby, but now you have feelings for her. You're so predictable, Jeth."

I frowned. "W-Well, that's beside the point! I-I can't kill her. The baby would grow up without a mother. So... I need a poison that can fake her death... and an antidote to bring her back."

Jethro? Huh... I like his name. I kept listening to them talk and realized that a poison was going to take me out either way, so there had to be something to bring me back. I was learning a lot about this.

"Mhm..." He frowned. "How long do you want her to be knocked out? Because if the poison is too strong, you will only have about twenty minutes to give her the antidote or it'll kill her."

"I need her to be out for an hour or two... that'll give enough time for it to take effect, get her to the castle, show the king she's dead, end the contract and leave." I said. "You're a miracle worker... tell me you can do it!"

He smacked me in the head. "What are you saying?! Of course I can do it! I just need a couple months to get everything. How long until she pops?"

I frowned and rubbed my head. "You mean until she has the baby? Four months."

He smacked me again. "Why didn't you come to me sooner?! That's not long enough!"

"You're the miracle man! You can do it!"

"Miracles take time, Jethie."

I frowned. "I know that..." I sighed. "I might be able to keep her here a little while after she has the baby. How many more months do you need?"

"Two. Give me six months and I will have you a recipe for success. Oh, and give her a kiss for me. She's pretty."

I frowned and hit him in the head that time.

This sounded complicated... he was risking his life to save me and I wondered if it normally took him this long to catch a target. Wouldn't the king get suspicious? I was concerned.

I finished smacking Zaron around and walked back out where the girl was. "Well... it'll take some time, but we're going to get out of this." I said, picking the bags up again.

I smiled, "Okay, I'm sorry this is challenging... I made this really hard on you." I didn't mention that I'd heard everything they said.

"I made it hard on myself." I said with a sigh. "If I wanted the easy way out, I would have decided to continue with my plan of killing you after the baby is born." I opened the door for her and smiled... just a little bit. "Don't worry about me."

I tilted my head at that entire sentence. Firstly, why did she care? Secondly, "How do you know my name...?"

"Your friend said it... sorry, I shouldn't have said it." I felt bad for speaking up but at the same time it felt pretty good to know his name.

"Oh, no... it's okay." I said awkwardly. This was weird now. She knew my name, but I didn't know hers. "What else did you hear?" I was pretty sure she heard everything though. I didn't realize we'd spoken so loudly.

"Um... just some information, I won't talk about it out here." I said softly, I didn't want him to get in trouble. We got home and even then I didn't want to tell him what I heard, I was just too scared he'd get in trouble.

We got back home and I sighed some. I didn't want to keep her for another two months. Not because I didn't want to be around her, but I was scared of what would happen. I was pretty well known for finding my targets quickly, and I was scared of the King finding me out. She would be killed, bearing child or not. And I would be killed, for not killing her. The longer this took, the bigger my chances of being found out.

I could feel the tension and concern he carried for the rest of the day and while I was making dinner. I made him some tea that he seemed to favor and made myself some as well, hoping the heat would help with pain from walking all day. I was really worried about Jethro... he didn't ask my name or anything and there was probably a reason for that.

I wasn't sure what to do. I tried not to get too attached to her. I wasn't sure if she wanted that, and after I told her I wasn't going to kill her, she didn't seem as interested in me... though she did continue to cook and keep my beer hidden.

I never asked her name. It was hers to give, and I figured if she wanted me to know, she'd tell me. So, I didn't really push or pry. I just... well, I tried to stay nice, and I think I was doing a good job.

"I brought you more tea." I said, a couple weeks later. "Are your dresses still fitting?"

I hesitated on giving my name because I thought if he knew it would just be risky... I don't know. I was wanting to be careful. I looked back when he came in and nodded, "Yeah, they are fitting good!" I was eating a bit more lately since I wasn't getting sick but I was trying to eat in moderation too. "Thanks for the tea, are you hungry? If you're good I'll give you half a beer."

I shook my head. "I don't want even the smallest headache in the morning... and yes, I'm starving." I sat down and sighed. "How is the baby?" She seemed happier recently and that was making me smile more. I really was starting to like her.

"Oh okay! Well dinner is almost done." He had been complaining about the beer missing and the moment I offered to give him some he denied it.

"The baby? She's nocturnal and never sleeps and when she does sleep it's when I'm awake and don't mind kicking..." I frowned, "So I'm up all night because all she wants to do is kick and then I'm starving by then too..." I never went into much detail about how things were going.
