I gulped and nodded a little. "Just really tired." I said softly. "Y-You?" I asked. The water did feel good. But I was really falling asleep. I was so tired.

I was scared that she was dying... some part of me knew I had to do something but I couldn't be sure that anything was wrong except fatigue.

"Exhausted but I'm awake for you." I was well trained to keep myself awake and alert.

I smiled a little. "For me? You're so sweet. When can we stop for the day?" I asked loud enough for those guys to hear.

The sun was going down and the men seemed to be setting up their camps. I assumed we were stopping for the day as I curled up close to Lora and ran my fingers through her red hair.

"I love you... until the end... you'll always be my very best friend. When those days are long gone, we'll still be together far beyond... time itself can't take us down..." I was falling asleep while singing a song to her, making sure she was safe and comfortable in my arms.

I listened to his song and vaguely remembered Zephyr pulling me out of the water. "Best friends until forever ends." Zephyr told me I said that, but I don't remember. I only remember falling asleep and having a very good dream while I slept in his arms.

I was in the most beautiful wedding gown I could have ever imagined. My hair was done up in a neat bun with flowers stuck all in it. I walked down the isle and there Zephyr stood. He was smiling big and wearing his formal guard uniform. I smiled back and cried when my father kissed me and hugged me before giving my birth ring to Zephyr and walking away. Zephyr walked me up to the alter and we said our vows, prayed, and kissed.

Simple, but it was the most splendid dream I'd ever had! I woke up, my head on his chest again. My throat was clear now and I could breathe.

I was half asleep and idly rubbing my thumb against her arm, thinking about her but dreaming at the same time in my strange slightly awake and slightly asleep state. I felt her soft breath against my neck, warm and comforting to know that she was alive.

I sighed happily and then yawned. My legs hurt, I could already tell. "You awake?" I whispered softly.

"Somewhere in between but... awake." I was glad to hear her voice clear and healthier sounding than earlier when we were both choking on air. I couldn't stand the idea of losing her.

"Not at all, I have just been listening to the guys talk... trying to make sure they aren't plotting our deaths is all." I said, my hearing was pretty exceptional.

"Well, are they?" I asked softly, listening to the sound of Zephyr's heartbeat. It was so soothing and reassuring. It's steady beat was lulling me back to sleep again.

"Nah, they just want some royal treasure... I've been around royalty and the palace my whole life pretty much and I've never heard of such a thing." I yawned, "Personally I think it doesn't exist."

I nodded. "The royal treasury is below the castle, not out here in the woods. I don't think my ancestors are that crazy." I said tiredly. "But then again, they were a lot less human like than we are now."

My race was what humans called elves, simply because of our angular features and pointed ears. We really go by another name, but that would be too hard for you to pronounce, so I'll save you the trouble. ._.

"You never know... Mom used to tell me stories about our race and some of us had wings... though that seems strange to me since my ears... well..." I shrugged, "I can't explain my ears."

"I love your ears!" I smiled. "They're so soft and I just love them!" I felt of one of his ears again, smiling happily. I loved his ears. So soft! <3

My ear twitched involuntarily and I sighed, "I didn't do that... a-anyway... one day if we're ever allowed to go on an adventure better than this... we should go to my home country where my mother was born."

"Oh! I'd love that!" I said softly, grinning now. "We should definitely go!" I was still feeling of his ear. "Your ears... they're addictive!" I laughed at the fact that they kept twitching so much.

"Your hair is addictive..." I kept hiding my face in it. "Should we try and escape...?" I whispered, all the men were asleep.

I looked around. "Would they catch us?" I asked softly. "What would they do to you if they did?" I gulped. I wanted to get away, but what if something bad happened?

I laid my head back on his chest and sighed. "I'll do whatever you want to do, Zephyr. If you want to try and escape, I'll back you up."

"Maybe we shouldn't risk it..." I wrapped my arms around her waist and held her close to me, "I'd never forgive myself if anything happened to you."

I smiled and was laughing a little. "Okay, but please move your arms because I'm not used to mine bending that way..." I was giggling because I knew he hadn't thought about it.

I frowned a little bit at our wrists tied together. "This really is inconvenient. I can't even have a proper hug from you." I sighed.
