"More than a few?" I asked in surprise, "Well then!" I put down her brush and tied some of the hair back in a ribbon, "I guess we'll discuss that later?"

I turned her around and stood her up gently so we could go out to the garden, "We can talk about it whenever you want." I bent down to look at her eyes better.

My heart was pounding for the first time since I met him. I bit my lip and gulped past the fear of what I was about to do rising up in my throat. Zephyr, I loved him like I'd never loved anyone else. But really, I knew that this was for the very best... even though I could get in a lot of trouble. I reached up and wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled myself up and kissed him softly on the lips.

I hadn't expected this, my greatest desire to be fulfilled by the princess herself and not my dreams. I at first kept my eyes open and then I slowly accepted the kiss, returning it gently, cupping her chin in my palms gently.

I was kissing my charge...

The kiss ended long after it began and I looked up at him with a soft smile. "I love you, Zephyr. More than I ever thought I could."

I was shocked and a little bit chilled at the idea that this could be a dream and then I'd wake up and my hectic morning would begin again without this kiss in the middle of it.

I nodded, biting my lip as my nervousness took over. I was hardly ever nervous around him. "Yeah, I-I do. W-Was I too spontaneous again? I'm sorry if I've upset you.."

"N-Not at all..." I looked around to make sure we were alone, "I... have feelings for you too but if I express them, Lora... you'll probably lose me forever..." I ran a finger through a few strands of hair gently then traced her jaw line. "I don't know how to express love..."

I nodded, "Y-Yeah..." I really meant that I wasn't sure how to show her love very well in public knowing I could get arrested. "Let's... try not to be too noticeable."

"We have, but that's fine... it's fine." I was relieved that it was finally off my chest and it was probably off hers too, though I hadn't guessed she had those kinds of feelings for me.

I nodded and ran out the door before he could say anything. That atmosphere! It felt so awkward! Almost like he was just being nice to me! But that doesn't sound like him... but at the same time, it does.

Augh! I'm so confused!!

"I can't wait to meet your dad!" I had slowed down and could hear him catching up to me again, Zephyr. "I'm sure he's really nice!"

"He is, you will find that he's real big and gruff but he's really just a huggable guy... a huggable guy who was head of the guard once..." I thought about that and shook my head.

Nah. Just with people he was close to.

We made it to the garden and about eight minutes later Dad showed up. He was tall with graying hair and a bit of a mustache that curled around the corners of his mouth.

I did a small curtsy to him and grinned big. He was really a massive man, but he had kind eyes. "Hello! I am Princess Lora! I'm sorry for calling you out here, but Zephyr has told me so much about you, a-and I wanted to meet you in person!!"

And then I hugged him. >.<;;

I heard my father say 'oof' and then chuckled, "Well hasn't Her Majesty just grown so big! I haven't seen you since you were just a newborn!"

I smiled warmly, we'd grown up indeed...

He actually hugged her back, nervously at first.

I hugged him tight. He gave warm hugs. I already liked them. <3 But I finally released him, my face feeling hot and probably looking really red. "Daddy doesn't hug me very much anymore... thank you! Can I... have another hug?" I gulped. His hugs actually seemed warm and inviting. I hadn't had a hug like that in a long time. It was rare for Zephyr to ever really hug me back. He was scared of people getting suspicious of us. But when he did hug me back, they were wonderful. <3

Dad looked very surprised and then laughed hardily and hugged her gently, I saw some tears in his eyes and I wondered what was wrong, he looked so saddened but I could see his smile.

Then it occurred to me and I looked away. Mom. I sighed and raked my hands through my hair.
