Fried chicken!! Yums! I tore into a chicken leg, savoring the yums. It was wonderful and well-worth the wait. The line was pretty long. I would have waited on Will to sit with me before eating, but he'd be later because of the ridiculous line, and he'd probably have to sit with the preps today anyway.

I finally read the letter only to be shouted at even if it wasn't my fault. I was just... me.

"What the heck?! Who would do that when it's so clear that you are dating me, Will?!"

I shrugged, "Someone who has good taste." I grinned and then she hit me on the back of my head.

"That's not funny!"

Okay, so I screwed up again and that's one more thing to apologize for. Sorry Will.

I watched her tear into him and frowned. She was so rude. I sighed, suddenly not hungry for the mashed potatoes and the rest of my chicken. I looked around for a possible trashcan and.... right beside Amber. Perfect.

Okay, so I could totally get suspended for this... but it's totally worth it. I grabbed my food tray and made my way to the trashcan with a new purpose. I strode quickly and calmly before knocking the pixie girl over with my momentum, food -especially the mashed potatoes- was now covering her uniform. I looked to Will and gave him a wink before gasping. "Oh my gosh!!! I am so sorry!!! I totally didn't see you there! I guess I was blinded by your bright pink shirt! Do you use Tide?"

I knew that Amber was about to explode like a ticking bomb, the bomb she'd pretty much been all morning since she saw me sitting with Samantha.

"Do you know how much this shirt cost me?! Oh wait, you have no sense of fashion or common sense and apparently you lack aim too!"

I was not about to let Amber tear into her like that, I stood up, "Amber, chill."

She elbowed me in the ribs, probably not on purpose but it felt pretty terrible no less.

"Stay out of it, Willliam!"

That was my whole name, she was fuming.

"Oh, no. My aim was dead on." I said with a big smile. Lying about aiming for her was pointless. It was probably pretty obvious. "But you're probably right about the common sense part, and you're definitely right about fashion." I shrugged and picked the tray off the floor, setting it on the trashcan. "Now, if you will excuse me, I have a class to get to." I looked down at her shoes though, and burst out laughing. "Oh, mashed potatoes on Sperry's... I'm at least smart enough to figure out that that'll be hard to get out. Good luck!"

By that time she was yelling louder, telling me to do something and as usual, I just shrugged. I was just not that crazy about helping her when she always got what she asked for.

"Sit down and chill. You won't be caught dead with a sick person and I won't be caught dead with a freaking drama queen." I went back to eating, food. Glorious food.

I grimaced. That was Will though. He hated drama. I wanted to run up and give him a huge hug, but that would only cause more problems. "Well, anyway... I have class so I guess I'll see you guys later. Bye!" I gave them both a small wave and offered a smile to Will. I still felt sort of bad for getting him in trouble.

"Geez, Will? Where are you?" I said to myself, waiting on him outside of the bus. No one had gotten there yet. They were all talking to friends and such before they absolutely had to get on the bus. I was just waiting on Will.

Amber rode the car home because she didn't want to get laughed at more than she already had, especially when she exploded in the cafeteria.

I climbed on the bus, thankful for a breather as I went to sit next to Sam.

"Sorry I'm late, Amber tore into me some more."

"Ugh. How bad? I'm really sorry for making the situation worse by throwing my food on her." I said, moving a red three on a black four in Solitaire on my ipod. "It was just a prime opportunity and I really have always wanted to that."

"She's just upset because I told her I can't come to track meet and that I'm not sticking up for her when she gets what she deserves." I sighed, "I'm not mean but... she's always hurting me so I just retaliate. I know it's wrong..."

I gave her a smile, she knew how to cheer me up no matter what the case was. Especially when we were in fourth grade and I was diagnosed with asthma. My father had been a heavy smoker and it was extremely dangerous to be around him normally.

"Thanks Sam." I roughed her hair a bit, "You're amazing."

I nudged him softly. Not harsh the was Amber usually did. "Hey look! I beat my first game of spider solitaire!" I held up my ipod for him to see if he wanted. "I'm so proud of myself!"
