“The fall of the known world. Nuclear apocalypse, The Space arcs that had been designed to last hundreds of years to save what remained. After the purifying flames that licked earth into a barren charred corpse of what it once was, Ten arcs had been built, twenty five years passed after their completion. Russia’s arc had a malfunction and re entered the earths atmosphere. Then Asia’s arc, and so forth until only three remained. One-hundred-seventy five years later, those three began their pre-planned reentry into earth. The Radiation had changed much, Earth was an entirely different being now. Germany, United States and Sweden arcs had all landed safely within the same continent that was pre planned by their ancestors.

“The others hadn’t faired as well as these three, however they were there. The human race had survived their own extinction level event, now with radiation almost entirely gone from the surface besides a few hot pockets where it had all pooled humans could begin to safely rebuild.

“This is the history that was told to me by my father. Whom was a well known historian and notorious whistle blower. But it’s an interesting take on what we all want to know what happened. Considering that a little over four hundred years have since this piece of history happened.” R&D said a few bottles of whiskey littered his little make shift camp. The dog it’s size that of a horse snored, in response to his owners rambling. R&D, let his drunken gaze land on the lost fortress, the remains of an ark long though to be lost to time. As a scrapper the scum of the earth, this was a big a find, something that would have been legendary. If this was his first time coming upon the ghosted ruins of his ancestors past.

R&D had found two prior to this one, and both he had never reported to the worlds ARC POLI. What humanity considers to be the head decision makers of their populations cultures and agendas. He was a bastard usually kept all the findings to himself. This time however he had a young daughter to a rich conglomerate with him. He was hired to help guide her through a long stretch of mountains, for which he wasn’t planning on coming across an arc by accident. “Dammit.” R&D muttered under his breath as the young woman had just finished making her camp a good twenty feet from his.

Elle sat in her tent, peeking out through the front flaps. Her eyes narrowed when she saw how closely he was eyeing the arc. He wanted it for himself. He wanted this find for himself. Well, she wouldn't have that. They came across the find at the same time, and she would split the money for reporting it to the ARC POLI with him... seventy-thirty, since she technically had gotten there first. She noticed he had set camp first, but she definitely found the place first. She was certain. Irritated that she was probably going to lose the find to a lowlife scrapper, she scooped up a rock and threw it in his direction, landing it squarely at the back of his head. He flinched and, encouraged by this, threw another. This one was bigger and instead, hit his gigantic dog. It hopped up and snarled in her direction. Elle squeaked and ducked back inside her tent. Damn dog. Damn man. Damn... everything.

"Frustrated eh," Was all Red (R&D) could mutter after the stones impact on himself and, with a lost native language soothed his wolf friend. "Rutas, calm." He let his native langauge seep, with a drunken slur. "She knows renown and it's worth this ancestors relic. Worry not the child, tonight guard this ancestors relic. Then we will be on our way. To return swiftly later. Reds drunken slur, and his native language almost utterly lost to time and the nature of humans echoed in a whisper through the empy mountains.

So night had come, the moons cracked face let twlight drift to the mountains and the two individuals seperate camps. Red, changed his clothes to that of a common scrapper durable and practical. With a pack, tools and a pouch on his chest with a pre-desolation technitions tool. Tonight he approached the rusted and moss covered shell of the ark. Rutas his old friend followed quietly letting his sharp gaze scan the girls camp.

On the opposite side of the ark, the artifact in question between Elle and Red. He brought our his technitions tool, it's led screen gave his visage a glow not uncommon to the current world. While he pings the ship hoping that the arcs core and main frame still existed. Minutes pass and Reds throat dry from his anxious wait, makes and audiable gulp. The tool chirps, Red wears a smile. "Connection established. Technition 14859, Russian Arc, Sergei Sokolov, Full access granted welcome head technition hopefully your visit is enjoyable. UK arc welcomes you." The tool states in Russian.

A loud clank echoed in the night air, as the sound of dirt rolls down the arcs hull. "Rutas seek." Red ordered as he, went around opposite the direction his wolf companion to seek and opening. Rounding the corner he was surprised to see Rutas hair standing, gaze upwards on the girl. Whe made a mad climb to the open air lock. "I see. Well whatever." He began his assent after Elle.

The Departed and the Memory Empty Re: The Departed and the Memory

Elle slipped into the arc through the hatch she had managed to pry open. Looking around, she saw instruments of different kinds, all beyond her understanding. This was, in fact, her very first arc find. "What am I looking at?" She asks herself in a questioning tone. The arc seemed to be offline, and she wondered, fleetingly, if it might ever be functional again. She reached forward to run a pale hand along the controls on the wall nearest her. Brows knitting together, she dropped her hand to her side and continued exploring the ruined arc. It was so very old, and she wished she knew more about them. More about the history behind them. Such knowledge was closely guarded. She stopped short when she heard someone enter through the hatch. Damn man. She thought, and quickened inside. She rounded a corner, and screamed. A large, monstrous creature loomed over her. It lunged forward and she lunged backward. Drawing a small knife, she sunk the blade into the creature's fur, though when it howled in anger, she realized belatedly that it probably did nothing at all.

Realizing this, she did the only thing any sensible human in her position would have done. She turned, heart racing, and ran back the way she had come. Obviously, by the sound of wrenching metal and heavy breathing, the creature was not far behind her. "RUN!" She exclaimed to the stupid man who had followed her into the stupid arc - most likely with his stupid dog. "Get the hell out of here!" She slides past the idiot and begins to climb up the ladder, ignoring almost any and all else.
